Looking for a low-carbon, fuss-free way to get year-round use out of the lovely patio of yours? Forget the gas line, or even the kindling — what looks like it might be a greener approach comes courtesy of infrared heater tech, according to GreenChance, which now carries the Heatscope (formerly Heatstrip) infrared heater.
Boasting uniform heat distribution, precise adjustability (to focus its efforts on you and your guests), this German-designed and made unit was designed to be weather resistant and maintenance free. Despite the fact that infrared technology is used, no red light is emitted (unlike traditional infrared heaters), and its “sleek and an efficient” design makes it ideal for heating outdoor environments such as patios, courtyards and outdoor smoking areas during “the cooler months” (we imagine they know a thing or two about this in Germany).
The Heatscope unit heats directly, similar to the beams of sunlight, by permeating the air and warming bodies, which then emit heat into the ambient air, increasing the air gradually and comfortably. It is said to operate with minimal heat loss, even on cooler days, while the curved ribbed front of the unit ensures optimal heat distribution.
All this, in a super energy efficient unit, which lacks that “disturbing red light” emitted by traditional infrared heaters. The units are now available in North America through GreenChance by inquiry only.
