Renault’s new two-seat electric vehicle (EV) the Twizy is set to hit UK streets in March 2012. Now, with two versions of the cute n’ sporty Twizy already unveiled, the company recently announced a third version, the Colour.
The new Colour version will sit between the previously announced versions, Urban and Technic, The new model is priced at £6,950 (around $11,000) with a monthly battery rental starting at £40 (about $63). That pricing places the Colour at around $409 more than the entry-level Urban and $707 less than the top-of-the-range Technic.
Standard equipment on the Twizy includes 13-inch wheels, two gloveboxes, one of which is lockable, 10-foot long charging cable, heated tinted windscreen, Z.E. onboard computer and dashboard with econometer and battery consumption display, three-point seatbelt in the front with additional lateral restraint, three-point seatbelt in the rear, front airbag and immobilizer and steering lock.
Renault reports that the Twizy can hit up to 50 MPH with a range of up to 60 miles on its “urban cycle”. The Twizy will take a full charge in about three and a half hours.
