At this year’s Show Biz Expo in Los Angeles, rental car company Hertz has announced that two Tesla Roadsters will be added to the brand’s entertainment services division which caters to the film and special events industry.
Tesla Motors, as we’ve noted several times in the past, is one of the more well known electric vehicle manufacturers in the world. With a motor that offers 295 lbs-ft of torque, the Roadster can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds, and has a range of 245 miles when fully charged.
Hertz provides other green vehicles in their fleet, such as the Toyota Prius, which was recently used as the main car, somewhat as a joke, in the Will Ferrel movie The Other Guys. So, does this mean we’ll see a Tesla Roadster in the next summer blockbuster? Or maybe a stylish starlet rolling up to a movie premiere in the electric sports car? Fingers crossed.
