Swiss-based company Protoscar has unveiled details of its new prototype electric vehicle called the LAMPO3 that is being designed for a variety of original equipment manufacturers.
Equipped with three electric motors, two attached to the rear axis and one on the front, capable of producing 550 horsepower, and a 32 kWh lithium-ion battery system, the LAMPO3 has a range of approximately 125 miles and has a top speed of almost 137 miles per hour.
As far as electric sports cars go, the LAMPO3 has some decent performance specifications, what it lacks in range next to the Model S from Tesla Motors, it makes up for in speed – able to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds. According to Protoscar, the car can be charged from single-phase 10 A plug to a 32 A industrial plug, but no details on how long the process would take.
No word yet on the potential price for a commercial version of the car, or if the vehicle will be able for future purchase in the United States should it be made public.
