Coulomb EV Charger Locator App Updated

Coulomb Technologies recently released new upgrades for their ChargePoint App for the iPhone and Blackberry. Coulomb claims to be the only mobile application that provides real-time updates for drivers to find electric charging stations.

The new upgrades allow for filters and searches that include “available,” “in use,” “voltage level,” “paid stations,” or “free stations.” The company released the first generation of the software in earlier in 2010, and boasts tens of thousands of downloads.¬†Although the app is free, some features do require a ChargePoint driver account.

We’ve covered Coulomb quite a bit in recent months for their at-home charging stations and ambitious plans in the electric vehicle market. The company does have some competition, however, at least in the iPhone app sector as Xatori recently released a similar version of a mobile application that helps find charging stations in a driver’s area.

As previously noted, the mobile application is currently available for download on iPhone and Blackberry.
