Get Off Your Duff And Pedal Up Some Electricity!

Here’s an ingenious contraption that takes the concept of workout as energy-generator to a new level: the Pedal-A-Watt Stationary Bike Power Generator, a stand that transforms your current road-bike into a stationary bike that produces electricity for laptops, cell-phones, and even televisions and light bulbs!

The Pedal-A-Watt works by generating electricity based on the movement of the bike’s back wheel. To use it, you simply attach your bicycle to the Pedal-A-Watt stand and start pedaling. The stand contains a generator made of a spinning magnet within a coil of wire; as the magnet spins, electricity flows through the coil. The energy generated from your home workout session can be used immediately or can be stored in a battery in the power pack for use later.  A two-hour workout can produce enough energy to power a 200 watt television for two hours, or a 20 watt laptop PC for 20 hours. When you want to hit the road with your bike, simply pop it back out of the stand.
