The Etón Scorpion, A Solar, Hand Power Multi Function Thingy

At the Consumer Electronics Show, you see or hear about it all sorts of new products as they surface everywhere. One of the newest to catch our eye via Digital Trends is geared towards the outdoor adventurer who wants to go green with a multi-functional device. It is called the Etón Scorpion and it will price for around $50.

The Etón Scorpion, as mentioned by Etón, is powered one of three ways: solar panel, hand cranking or a DC adapter. It really does do a lot when you think about it – one can get up-to-date and detailed weather conditions through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) weather bands, enjoy music from the digital radio tuner or play their own tunes via an audio line input.

Other features of this unit with its “splash-proof, rugged exterior skin” include a bottle opener, aluminum carabiner clip and LED flashlight. It should be available in the first quarter of this year, giving you plenty of time to gear up for your summer camping.
