Solar Jump Lamp Concept Provides Green Lighting To Go

Looking for a solar lamp that’s as much at home in the office as it is in the great outdoors? No? Well, ready or not here it is, the Solar Jump Lamp concept from designer Mike Hages (which comes to us by way of Greendiary).

Featuring an energy-efficient LED light source, this portable lamp can be powered by either solar battery or outlet power. Pull it out and set it up: this lamp was designed to look smooth and sleek, at home amongst your various techno-stuff. Fold it up and take it with you: the solar panel goes on the outside, so you can hook this handy little number onto your backpack and set upon your merry way, harvesting power as you go.

This clever bit of lighting incorporates “simple, intuitive controls and…tasteful information display,” according to the designer, including a +/- toggle control for the light, a dimmer meter and a charge indicator. It seems that it could be the perfect off-grid traveling companion for your laptop.
