BH Unleashes New Electric Bicycle

Spanish bike company BH announced Its lastest pedal-assist model called the Emotion NEO earlier this year, and the bike is catching some attention online do to its sleek design.

According to BH, the NEO was configured specifically to hide the fact that the electric bicycle is battery powered. Similar attempts have been made, some building the motors into the wheels, others placing the battery on the back of the bike like a carrier. From photos, however, it looks like BH has succeed in creating a product that is nearly indistinguishable from a standard bicycle.

The NEO is equipped with a 250 watt brushless motor and powered by a 324 watt-hour lithium battery from Samsung that employs regenerative braking technology, and can be removed for charging. The bike weighs approximately 53 pounds, admirably light for a a pedal-assist product, and has a range of 56 miles when in “eco” mode.

The company claims the pedal-assist feature gives the 27-gear bike a power ratio boost three times to whatever the rider applies in force. Currently, it appears the bike is only available in the United States from a dealer in Tempe, Arizona.
