High End Electric Bike Hybrid Surfaces For Lucky Few

Attention, e-bike/pedelec enthusiasts: for the last three years, the folks at M55 Bikes have been working on building “the Ferrari of electric bikes,” and now, here it is: the M55 Bike EVO 001 electric hybrid – which comes to us via Green Autoblog – destined to debut soon at Eurobike.

Featuring futuristic styling and a super sturdy-looking aluminum frame, the EVO 001 comes in a street version–featuring a 250 watt (.34 horsepower) motor–and a sport version, which features an additional, purpose-built brushless DC 1.3 kW (1.74 hp) motivator that apparently will take you up to a blistering 43.5 miles per hour. It’s a pedelec, electric assist hybrid bike that responds to the pressure you apply to the pedals–so if you want more help from the electric motor, just pedal harder.

Each version of the EVO 001 will boast a battery pack from A123 Systems and Brembo brakes as well as red rear bulbs planted in the frame and forward-shining LEDs inside the handlebar. If you want one of these bikes, you may have to move fast, as only 250 are scheduled for production.
