Global Wind Day Photography Contest Winners

Global Wind Day was Friday. Did you know? If you were in Europe, you probably did. Sponsored by the European Wind Energy Association, there was a fair amount of hoopla over there, with many wind farms opening up for tours and educational programs, while over here in the United States, activity was rather sparse. But one aspect of Global Wind Day brought everyone into the fold — a photography contest. Organizers said they received some 2,300 entries from 40 countries. Click through this gallery to see the winners, as selected by a professional jury.
