After a quick trip from Japan into outer space at Disney’s Epcot in Florida, visitors can soon experience a glimpse of a sustainable world with The Vision House, an exhibit in Innoventions at Epcot, produced by Green Builder Media and Disney. As the latest project in Green Builder Media’s Vision House Series, visitors will be able to tour this model eco-house and learn about sustainable living.
In line with Disney’s immersing attractions, cast members lead visitors on a guided tour through the Vision House featuring sustainable features in action. The model house is presented as a set of interactive systems with whole home automation working to regulate energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor air quality and security. Visitors can envision their own sustainable home complete with a Chevy Volt electric vehicle plugged into their home charging station, heating and cooling controlled with a whole home automation system, a kitchen with shiny new Energy Star appliances, all lit with energy saving LED lighting.
After the tour, interactive kiosks allow visitors learn more about what piqued their interest and how to bring sustainability into their own lives. Once their back home reminiscing about their trip, they can also connect to the project via a mobile, digital and social media technology platform also in the works.
“We founded Green Builder Media to create positive change in the world,” says Sara Gutterman, CEO of Green Builder Media. “Our goal with the Vision House in Innoventions at Epcot is to deliver a powerful and inspiring message that makes sustainability personal—to help families ‘bring green home,’ literally and figuratively.”
