Green Car Rentals Expand In California

While eco-conscious commuters in many cities can rely on biking or public transit, there are still some metropolitan areas where the car is definitely king, and no place has a greater stigma for freeways, highways, and traffic than Los Angeles, California.

MPG Car Rental is hoping to make all that congestion a little cleaner by offering a line of hybrid vehicles for rent. The company joins a wave of different green car options washing across the state, including various model rentals from Hertz, an all-electric car sharing fleet in San Diego, a special program for Hollywood from Tesla Motors, and the expansion of public charging stations.

MPG Car Rental will offer several Toyota hybrids, including the Prius, the Honda Insight, a few SUVs, and even two Lexus luxury models for travelers coming in and out of LAX, as the company’s headquarters in Venice Beach are relatively close to the airport.

Full details of the new hybrid rental program can be found on the MPG Car Rental website.
