Ten companies took top honors in the GE’s Ecomagination Home Challenge this year and those companies, collectively, have posted 31 new openings on their websites, as indexed by The Green Job Bank search engine, which sniffs out new green jobs.
Of those ten companies, Hara Software, GMZ Energy, Ember Corporation and Sunrun added job postings over the last month;, while On-Ramp Wireless, Nuventix, Viridity Energy, VPhase and Witricity kept the same number of open positions. (The final winner, Project Frog, currently has no positions posted on its website.)
Launched in 2009, the Green Jobs Bank is a search engine that crawls the web daily to provide current listings on green jobs across the Web. Listings orginate from green employers, industry associations, non-profit organizations, trade associations, research labs, green recruiters, and green job boards.
“This is a very positive report” said Bernard Ferret, founder and CEO of The Green Job Bank, in a statement. “31 new open positions represent a 45% increase from last month. We hope that these companies continue to do well and create more green jobs.”
