Pimp Your Prius With New Plus Package

We know there are some of you out there who are teetering on the fence of owning a new hybrid, but you’re afraid of rolling around town in a car that isn’t up to your level of grace. Okay, so maybe there’s only one of you. In any case, automaker Toyota has announced that its green machine, the Prius, now comes with a 2011 Plus Performance Package that makes the vehicle a bit more stylish – if such a thing is possible.

The new customization package comes from Toyota’s racing department, and adds a seven piece kit that includes front and rear bumper spoilers. The manufacturer says these upgrades will make the Prius more aerodynamic, but we just think they look cool.

With the new Plus option, the Prius will also come equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels and custom tires, a tuned rear sway bar, and limited edition floor mats. Besides some sweet floor mats, the car itself is lowered by 1.1 inches in the front and 1.3 inches in the back, and comes in four new colors that basically the same – pearl, silver, gray, and black.

It looks like you’ll still have to take the Prius Plus to a paint shop to get that special touch, and, sadly, there’s nothing in the announcement about replacing the cargo space with a pair of high-end subs. Still, it’s a good start to making the green car a little less, what’s the word . . . suburban? And all for around $3,000 depending on the model.
