Green Florida Homes Get Martha’s Touch

Once again, Martha Stewart has teamed up with KB Homes in Florida–this time, not on a concept home, but on an actual development.  The Mabel Bridge community in Orlando consists of Energy Star qualified homes — made pretty by none other than Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

These one- and two-story home designs range from 2,294 to 3,277 square feet with four to six bedrooms, two to four baths and two- or three-car garages. They incorporate  low-E windows, radiant barrier roofing and Energy Star qualified appliances.

In order to qualify the benefits of such eco-extras to prospective buyers, apparently, each home at Mabel Ridge also comes with KB Home Energy Performance Guide, an estimate of monthly electric and/or gas costs for each home, as well as information on the home’s relative energy efficiency when compared to a typical new home or resale home.

The homes at Mabel Bridge start in the $260,000s, and look to be available to the public shortly.
