Jaguar C-X75 Hybrid Becomes Expensive Reality

British automaker Jaguar has announced they will launch a new hybrid vehicle called the C-X75 concept car that has a top speed of over 200 miles per hour. We first announced details of the vehicle at last year’s Paris Auto Show, and were very impressed with the performance levels being touted.

We even noted that celebrity Jay Leno fell in love with the car at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Why all the fuss? Well, for starters, it’s a hybrid that can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just three seconds. The four-wheel drive car is boosted by two electric motors, features an all-carbon-fiber chassis, and can run in electric-only mode for approximately 30 miles.

Jaguar is partnering with racing company Williams F1 for production of the C-X75, which will be built in the United Kingdom, and according to the automaker will produce over one hundred jobs in the region.

Ready to buy? Not so fast. Only 250 of the cars will be produced, and the final price may reach just under $1.5 million. The C-X75 is certainly an impressive vehicle, but it seems people like Mr. Leno will be the only ones able to enjoy the luxury.
