You, Too, Can Rock Steven Chu

Los Angeles-based Martin Hsu is an accomplished illustrator and animator who has worked for the likes of Disney and Nickelodeon. He also happens to have a line of t-shirts featuring his own distinctive designs, one of which features Steven Chu, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy.

Entitled “Think Alternative,” the shirt bears tribute to Chu’s focus on alternative energy under the Obama administration, depicting the smiling Secretary surrounded by solar panels, wind turbines, hydro and wave power.

Many of Hsu’s designs bear tribute to his own ethnic heritage (born in Taiwan, of Chinese ancestry), and this shirt is no exception. Hsu says, “Super Asian nerds are awesome!  Especially when they’re solar powered like our Secretary of Energy- Steven Chu!  Aside from his stylish frames, I heard his favorite accessories are a bike helmet, laser beams, and wind turbines!”

If you, too, love Steven Chu, what better way to show your appreciation for this champion of clean energy than a cream-colored, fine jersey cotton American Apparel t-shirt, printed in Los Angeles? For $24.00, we think, it’s a steal.
