HP wants to help unlock your energy savings, at home and in your business, while at the same time perhaps unlocking greater profits for itself. Towards that end, it has a whole new suite of eco-goodies and apps it is trotting out during its Unlock Your Energy tour, which recently kicked off in San Francisco with an event of the same name.
During this event, HP rolled out its ECOSmart portfolio of services, which includes fleet and console software options that deliver real-time energy performance information to businesses. These applications, when combined with the expertise offered by HP Managed Print Services, are said to save energy and paper by up to 80 percent, while helping businesses track critical information.
HP also unveiled a proof-of-concept for its proprietary home energy management system, which makes use–of course!–of HP sensors and gateways throughout the house to help homeowners track and manage energy usage by room and appliance.
Also presented was the HP EcoSolutions Store, an online resource featuring more than 300 Energy Star-qualified and EPEAT registered products–putting all of HP’s eco-stuff, so to speak, under one “roof.” More about HP’s Unlocking Your Energy initiative is available online.
