Energy Efficiency Made Easy In Washington?

If you’re a Puget Sound Energy (PSE) customer, a free in-home energy evaluation can be yours through what the utility says is its new and improved HomePrint Assessment program.

This recently updated program aims to help customers improve energy efficiency with detailed assessments of their homes’ major energy systems–including space heating, water heating, insulation and appliances–performed by qualified energy auditors. Customers then receive a summary of energy-saving recommendations, information on PSE rebates for energy-efficient products, a  list of contractor referrals and more.

Another perhaps helpful aspect of the program: HomePrint Assessment can provide customers with on-site installation of up to 50 free  compact fluorescent light bulbs, which PSE notes use up to 75 percent less energy than ye olde incandescents and last up to 10 times longer.

PSE offers HomePrint Assessment services throughout its nine-county electric service area; qualifying homeowners or renters must be a PSE electric customer living in an existing single-family property or attached housing with four units or less.
