Upgrade Kit Aims To Make Prius A Badass

It looks as if Prius drivers in the U.K. won’t be the only ones getting an option to make their Prius look more sleek. Toyota here in the United States is showcasing for the 2010 SEMA Show its all new Prius Plus Performance Package, which looks to give the world’s favorite hybrid a nice makeover.

The new Prius Plus Performance Package, debuting in limited production beginning next April, was designed by Toyota Racing Development. It is a seven-piece aerodynamic body kit including a uniquely styled rear diffuser, that Toyota says enhances its already sleek appearance and maintains its 0.25 coefficient of drag. The kit also includes front and rear bumper spoilers and side skirts and race-inspired 17-inch forged wheels with a higher strength-to weight ratio to reportedly help keep the corner weight down and performance up.The wheels are fitted with low profile 215/45R17 tires and have a custom offset as well.

Other items of note in this special Prius upgrade kit include sport-tuned lowering springs for improved performance handling, a rear sway bar to reduce body roll and special floormats. You also get a little Plus exterior badge on the car to let people know the Prius you are driving looks to be a badass. No word on pricing.
