Calling all Illinois cleantech start-ups: if you’ve got the potential to bring new clean energy technology to the marketplace, the Clean Energy Trust wants to hear from you.
The organization–founded by a variety of business and civic leaders in order to accelerate the pace of clean energy innovation in the Midwest–is now accepting applications for the Clean Energy Challenge, which will award $100,000 in cash prizes (provided courtesy of the U.S. Department of Energy) to the best young Illinois companies.
In order to apply, companies must have less than $2 million in cumulative revenues (excluding grant income), less than $1 million in third-party loans or equity, and at least one team member who is a resident of the Land of Lincoln. Rules and criteria are available online, as are submission forms for business plans. The application deadline for the Clean Energy Challenge is December 3, 2010.
