Whirlpool Frig Chills On Energy Hogging

A new side-by-side refrigerator from Whirlpool that is extremely energy efficient is being said by the manufacturer to offer the most shelf space and the largest crisper currently on the market. It is the GSS26C4XX and it is pricing for around $1,600 for the more energy efficient model.

The GSS26C4XX, according to Whirlpool, is Energy Star certified and uses less energy than a typical 60-watt light bulb that is in continuous use for one year. It is said to provide 25 percent more usable shelf space and also incorporate special built-in sensors that automatically adjust to return food to the desired temperature in half the time as previous Whirlpool models without them. Other features include etched shelves that help control spills and an in-door ice system.

“We spent time with consumers to understand their needs, and capacity and energy efficiency stood out as the two greatest needs. We also wanted to provide smart solutions to remove household headaches – one of which can be messes in the refrigerator,” said Carolyn Kelley, brand manager, Whirlpool brand, in a statement.
