Eco Earphones With Microphone Debuts

Thinksound is a niche consumer electronics company trying to make a name for itself by developing headphones which are more eco-friendly. We gave its Rain in-ear headphones high marks in a review earlier this year and are now happy to note the company has just announced the ts02+mic, an in-ear model with integrated microphone and call control.

The ts02+mic, which prices around $100, is assembled primarily from renewable, recyclable resources like wood and aluminum, and feature PVC-free cables, according to the company. These earphones are compatible with most smart phones, including the iPhone and Blackberry models, and are said to feature “reduced speaker diameter and housing size to provide better ergonomics, upgraded acoustics for more accurate sound reproduction, and a wider sound-stage compared to the previous models.”

The ts02+mic model will be available in two finishes – silver/cherry and black/chocolate – and comes with four different-sized silicon earbuds as well as a cotton carrying pouch which has room for a mobile phone or MP3 player. The packaging these headphones and accessories come in is made from bleach-free recycled cardboard, eliminating the common plastic pieces normally associated with headphone packaging.
