Texas Utility Enables Mobile Control Of Home Thermostat

TXU Energy is already ahead of the curve it seems like when it comes to letting its customers use the Internet to control their temperature settings at home. The Texas-based utility with over 2 million customers offers these people an option for a Web controllable thermostat that lets them monitor and manage their home’s temperature online. Now they can also do it via a variety of mobile phones as well.

TXU Energy said it has created a special mobile Web site version of the online control interface for its iThermostat. This mobile version, which is said to be viewable through most popular smart phones, lets customers view real-time temperature settings and even adjust the temperature setting. This is particular useful if one forgets to flip off the HVAC system before leaving the home.
