New GT3 Electric Vehicle Zips Along At Upwards Of 70 MPH

There certainly is no lack of creative ideas out there for cool looking small electric car concepts – take the Arcimoto Pulse, for example – but often many of them never see the light of day on the open road. T3 Motion, an electric vehicle company out of California, hopes to be one of those who does actually have drivers some day behind the wheel of its new GT3 plug-in electric vehicle.

T3 Motion, which has been showing off up to this point (video below) the working inner parts of this car, is now working on the outer body. This plug-in electric vehicle is a three-wheel design, with T3 crowing that the rear wheel design “features a patent-pending, single, wide-stance wheel with two high-performance tires sharing one wheel.” The company believes this design “improves traction, stability and handling, while the low rolling resistance and rounded profile of the rear tires increase energy efficiency.” On the open road the GT3 will technically be classified as a motorcycle given its three-wheel design.

T3 Motion says that the GT3 will be able to hit a top speed of 70 MPH in its electric only drive, making use of an AC induction motor powered by lithium-polymer battery technology. Its top driving range should be between 80-100 miles per charge, and pricing when the vehicle becomes available will range between $35,000 and $42,000.
