Think City Electric Car Prepares For New York City Debut This Year

European electric car company Think is hoping for good American market penetration for its Think City electric car today with word that it will begin selling this vehicle in New York. No specific information was mentioned on pricing, but what is said to be one of the world’s first highway-capable electric vehicles will be available in the Big Apple and other “select cities” later this year.

The Think City, according to its maker, is “a purpose-built, all-electric car designed for urban environments.” It is said to be capable of driving more than 100 miles on a single charge and, given the fact it is an electric vehicle, emits no carbon in the process. New York isn’t the only place in America seeing Think activity – the company also recently announced it plans to begin manufacturing the Think City in Elkhart, Indiana early next year.

“New York is a logical early market for the Think City in the U.S.,” said Think CEO Richard Canny in a statement. “New York ranked third on our EV-Ready Cities Index based on the great fit of EVs to city driving and the strength of state and local government support.”
