Recharge Smart Charger Offers Recharge Time, Battery Power Meters

How has Energizer kept its successful bunny brand of batteries going, and going, and going (and going) for so long? By playing it smart — the Energizer Recharge Smart Charger, that is.

A recent survey conducted by Impulse Research revealed that 74 percent of those polled desire some sort of fuel gauge on their batteries. Recharging is fine and dandy, but using the same batteries for dozens of hours and knowing they’ve just got to be minutes away from croaking is not fine at all. The Energizer Recharge Smart Charger not only packs a fuel gauge, but a second meter that informs users how much time remains until their nickel-metal hydride cell (NiMH) batteries are fully charged.

If charge-time tracking and fuel monitoring aren’t perks enough, “the ENERGY STAR®-certified Energizer® Recharge Smart™ Charger also features a slow charge rate, which extends the number of battery life cycles, and a bad battery alert that automatically indicates if the batteries are no longer useful or if a disposable battery has been inserted by mistake,” according to an Energizer-issued press release.
