HP Showcases What It Says Is Most Energy-Efficient Laser Printer

HP recently introduced a series of printers which let you print fairly quickly after first setup by connecting a netbook, notebook or desktop PC to the printer with a USB cable – no CD required. One of these particular printers, the LaserJet Pro P1100 series, just happens to also be mentioned by HP as the most current “energy-efficient laser printer on the planet.”

The HP LaserJet Pro P1100 series, according to HP, is Energy Star certified and sports special auto-on technology to sense when one is going to print. It awakens from being off at that time to print. Afterward a similar built-in technology automatically adjusts the power settings and turns the printer off when there is no print activity. It also includes smart printing so, when you are printing Web content, you only print that which you need.

Other functions of this printer from HP include wireless networking printing, print speeds up to 19 ppm and quicker printing times with “instant-on” technology. Cost is said to range up to $150.
