Green Modular Homes from Blu Go Two Stories In Size

Not long ago, we covered a cute little green modular house from Massachusetts-based home-builder Blu, the Element. Now, the company has announced the launch of the Element’s bigger, more spacious, two-story sibling, the Blu Evolution.

The Evolution is available with three or four bedrooms and two full bathrooms in a variety of floor plans, including a number of options on window and door placement. Green elements include low or no-VOC paints and finishes, recycled and recyclable materials, low-flow fixtures, Energy Star appliances and an optional pier foundation.  It also features a roof deck, high ceilings and abundant south-facing windows.

The company makes use of special computer modeling and “folding” technology that allows them to build and ship their homes anywhere, with installation performed by their own staff on site.  The Blu Evolution home was designed with for single-family homes, town homes and development communities.

I am thrilled to see that modular homes are embracing green materials. This will really set them apart from the competition.
