Asus seems to feel humans – and perhaps pandas for that matter – are wanting of laptops which sport bamboo. Whether that is true or not, they are on their way as the global computer manufacturer introduced this week at the Consumer Electronics Show this week the U Series Bamboo Collection, noted by Asus as being “modern computing with a hint of class.”
The Asus U Series Bamboo Collection, according to Asus, will apparently come in four different model choices and a variety of configuration options. While we can’t tell exactly what the energy efficiency of these models will be as Asus made no mention of that, we can assume the company will probably strive for that goal. As far as the bamboo goes, Asus added it in its quest to continue “to utilize natural materials to convey a sense of exquisite taste that no other notebook can match along with an Eco-friendly design.”
Technical aspects of the U Series Bamboo Collection include access to a variety of new Intel processors, the Windows 7 operating system, hard drives ranging up to 640 GB in size, a maximum screen size of a 15.6-inch LED backlit display, an integrated Web cam and much, much more.
