A lot of notebook power chargers are being introduced at the Consumer Electronics Show this week which one could substitute for their regular notebook power brick. Only a handful though are what could be considered energy efficient, and computer accessories manufacturer Kensington says they have two new ones which fit that category.
The new Kensington Wall Ultra Compact Notebook Power Adapter and the Kensington Wall/Air Ultra Compact Notebook Power Adapter are both Energy Star certified, meaning they consume what Kensington says is up to 30 percent less energy compared to typical notebook adapters. Both can charge USB devices via an integrated USB port while at the same time charging a notebook and, for those who are into it, most of the packaging these products come in is made from post consumer recycled materials.
The Wall Ultra model, priced around $100, includes a retractable mini USB charging cable, while the Wall/Air Ultra, pricing around $120, comes with a travel pack which includes an airline charging cable and the retractable cable. Both adapters are said to be compatible with a variety of top selling notebook computer brands and are available now.
